ABOUT

Hi, I’m Kim Henry and want to share with you a little about myself.

I’m a retired litigation attorney/corporate executive, turned author. I’ve always loved to write, but a realization that I could write for God, to bring others closer to Him, ignited my true passion for writing.

I’ve studied the Bible for over thirty years. I spend each morning in an extended quiet time with God. Making God Smile and Do I Still Matter? are my two “solo” books. I’ve also contributed to about twenty other Christian compilation books, including twelve editions of Guidepost’s annual devotional, Daily Guideposts, (now re-titled Walking in Grace.) I write a free monthly devotional which goes out on the first day of each month. (You can sign up for it on this website.)

I live with my husband in Colorado. We have three children, two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, eight grandchildren, and four granddogs - all fabulous!

I am enthralled by the sky and am in special awe of sunrises and sunsets. I have an obsession with my morning coffee, my coffee mug collection, and fireplaces. I love to travel. My husband and I have been to forty-nine states, and about ninety countries over the years. I spend a significant amount of time trying to stay in shape, working out three to six days every week. I also enjoy hiking and walks. But it’s spending time with my family that brings me the greatest joy.

For years I’ve tried to be the person God wants me to be, the person I want to be for God - my best for His glory. My journey has had its ups and downs, but God, in his patience, has taught me a lot along the way.

I wrote Making God Smile to share what I’ve learned as I’ve pursued my lifetime goal of living, daily, the Galatians 5:22,23 Fruit of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. Taking each day and each fruit, one at a time, it focuses on how we can truly live them.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve experienced the fears, doubts, and insecurities that creep in as the years progress. I believe that at some point in everyone’s life, and especially as we age in a culture which values youth, the question arises – do I still matter? I’ve asked this question of myself and of God. I wrote Do I Still Matter? to explore with you, God-centered answers to questions which arise in our older life stage. This book is to encourage and inspire you to live this time of life to its fullest, and equip you to exclaim “Yes, I still matter!”

My hope is that my writing will make a difference in your life, that it will open your eyes and heart to God, and help you be more aware of your actions, your thoughts, your words, and the importance and preciousness of every minute. I pray it will bring you the joy of becoming your best for His glory!

i'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
